WHY A DOG RIDES HOPPY BY SEX
Many owners, noticing that their dog is riding a pope on the floor, quickly grab onto gadgets in order to film such a comedic behavior of a doggie on video. And in vain, because the reasons for such “pokatushek” can lie in various diseases. In this article, we will understand why animals scratch their anus by riding on the carpet or on the floor.
The reasons for riding a dog on the pope
If a dog fiddles a booty on the floor, what does it mean? Most often, this is the main sign that she is concerned about anal itching. In addition to riding on the fifth point, the owner can notice a number of other alarming symptoms in his pet: anxiety, poor sleep, persistent licking of the anus, constipation or diarrhea, loss of appetite. Let’s try to find out what are the most common causes of such an unpleasant phenomenon as a dog riding a pope:
Dog rides booty
Blockage of the paraanal glands. The most common reason why doggies roll on the floor on the pope lies in the disruption of the paraanal glands that produce an odorous secret, which is necessary for marking the territory. Such a problem develops when the consistency of the secretion of the paraanal glands changes from the usual to too thin or thick, for example, against the background of hypothermia, stress, hormonal disorder or weakened immunity. In addition to itching, dogs with blockage of the paraanal glands suffer from loss of appetite, pain in the anus, restless sleep, disturbances in stool, ulceration in the anus.
Helminthiasis. Parasitic worms are one of the main reasons why a dog rides booty on the floor, carpet, grass. If there are a lot of helminths in the intestines, they tend to get out through the anus, as a result of which the dog violently licks itself under the tail and rides on the pope. Other symptoms of helminthic infestation are constipation, intermittent diarrhea (feces may contain blood, and sometimes parasitic fragments), lack of appetite or severe eating, weight loss (while the stomach of the dogs in some cases looks bloated), poor coat and skin swelling of the extremities, cough.
Hemorrhoids. If the dog rides on the priest, but there are no worms, then hemorrhoidal veins can be suspected due to, for example, small or excessive motor activity, obesity, hormonal failure. Symptoms of canine hemorrhoids besides riding on the priest on the floor are frequent licking of the anus, constipation (when trying to relieve a dog, it takes an unnatural posture, sometimes plaintively whines), blood in the stool (the stool itself is very hard), a lump in the anus (in an advanced stage bleeding).
Colitis. It happens that a dog rides a booty due to inflammation of the colon. The causes of colitis are foreign objects stuck in the intestines, helminthic invasions, autoimmune disorders, stress, malnutrition and dysbiosis, gastrointestinal tract diseases (pancreatitis, gastroenteritis, oncological processes, etc.). With colitis, in addition to an itching of the anus, rumbling and abdominal pain, fever, gas formation, bad breath, loss of appetite, loss of body weight, gray plaque on the tongue, periodic cases of vomiting, tachycardia will be present.
Enterocolitis. With inflammation of the small and large intestines, the dog may also experience severe itching of the anus. Enterocolitis is usually caused by transferred infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, parasite infestations, poisoning, food allergies, malnutrition, prolonged use of antibiotics. Symptoms of such a disease besides itching in the priest are nausea, loose stools (sometimes with blood) and constipation, pain in the peritoneum, bloating and rumbling of the abdomen.
Dehydration. Dehydration can occur against the background of kidney failure, endocrine diseases, infectious and non-infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, causing vomiting and / or diarrhea, poisoning, cancer. When hard feces damage the intestines and anus, the animal begins to suffer from unbearable itching and pain, which leads to a ride on the carpet. Other signs of dehydration are lethargy, weak heart rate, vomiting, sagging skin, sagging eyes, sticky mucous membranes.
Hygiene after the toilet – this doesn’t happen very often, but some animals, cleaning the rug, clean the soiled hair after the toilet, especially if they have loose stools for some reason. The animal, not wanting to lick itself, simply cleans off the stool that adheres to the wool on the carpet, upholstery of the sofa or grass during a walk. Owners in such situations need to be vigilant every time washing the animal after the toilet. As a rule, after setting up a chair, such dog behavior disappears.
